We’re excited to share that Local Food Canada has been featured in a story published by The Weather Network! The segment, “Canadian organic farmer shares why the practice is so rewarding,” follows The Weather Network’s Aman Purewal as she explores the importance of buying local, the health benefits of organic food, and the dedication it takes to grow it. Aman interviews Erin at Foragers Farm, and then points viewers toward resources for finding fresh, sustainable produce in their own communities.
You can watch the full story on The Weather Network website or their post on Instagram.
It means a lot to us to be featured nationally, and is a great reminder of how many Canadians are curious about where their food comes from, and how much great local food is out there waiting to be found! Local Food Canada began in 2020 as a local food directory for the Kingston, Ontario area called Modern Locavore, born from how hard it was for local foodies to find local food beyond the obvious hotspots like farmers’ markets.
A big thank you to The Weather Network, Aman, and everyone involved in putting the story together. If it has you inspired to get more involved with your local food system, the Local Food Directory is a great place to start. We hope to see you at the market!
